THE INSTALLATION

Cold storage across the stadium.

Wembley needs little introduction. For this substantial project, VCS built nine 6 m walk-in fridges and one 6 m walk-in freezer across different levels of the stadium—from pitchside to the upstairs bar areas and the loading bay.

Our rooms remained in place for many concerts held at the stadium, supporting the customer’s drinks and ice storage throughout a busy programme of live events.

With the rooms primarily used for drinks and ice supplies, pallet access was essential. Pallet doors allowed palletised stock to be loaded into the rooms using forklifts, supporting the customer’s bulk stocking operation.

We worked closely with the customer to coordinate installation and dismantling across multiple dates, fitting the work around their operational schedule.

When requirements changed, we returned at short notice to reduce the size of one room. The modular setup meant the storage could be adapted as the customer’s needs evolved.

From positioning rooms across several levels to managing separate visits and a last-minute change, clear communication kept the project coordinated.
